Avi Roque (They/Them) is a Latiné, trans masculine, nonbinary actor, award-winning audiobook narrator, and voice artist whose work spans animation, video games, audiobooks, film, theatre, and live events. With a career rooted in authentic storytelling and meaningful representation, Avi is passionate about bringing LGBTQIA+ stories to life—especially those centered on marginalized communities.
Avi has performed regionally with acclaimed companies including Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, The Old Globe, and Shakespeare Theatre Company. They are best known as the voice of Raine Whispers, Disney's groundbreaking nonbinary character in The Owl House; Lane Garza in Bethesda's Starfield; and Igor in the indie animated feature Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero. Since 2020, Avi has narrated more than 70 audiobooks, earning numerous honors including an Odyssey Award, a SOVAS Award, and multiple Earphones Awards for outstanding narration. Their debut audiobook, Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, was named one of Audible's Top 10 Best Audiobooks of 2020.
As someone who grew up searching for stories that reflected their own experiences, Avi is committed to helping create the kinds of characters and narratives they wished they'd had growing up. Nothing means more to them than meeting viewers and listeners who have found joy, comfort, or inspiration through their work.
Beyond performance, Avi is the co-creator and co-host of In Full View, a podcast exploring trans masculine representation across film, television, books, video games, and beyond. They also appear regularly at conventions and industry events as a moderator, educator, and speaker, sharing their expertise in voice acting, audiobook narration, and LGBTQIA+ representation in media.
